Outdoor Chattanooga and the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park have partnered to offer monthly, guided, historical bicycle rides of Chickamauga Battlefield. Beginning Saturday, April 26 at 9:30 a.m., Outdoor Chattanooga staff and volunteers will lead the rides as National Park interpretive rangers talk about historical points of interest. The rides will average 7 to10 miles in length, feature flat to moderately hilly terrain, last approximately three hours, and are appropriate for adults and children ages eight and older when accompanied by an adult. The public is encouraged to bring their bicycles and join the fun. All participants will be required to wear helmets. Some loaner bicycles from the Outdoor Chattanooga Bicycle Fleet will be available for riders 5’ tall and over. Reservations will be required for use of these bicycles, and may be made by calling the ChickamaugaBattlefieldVisitorsCenterat (706) 866-9241. Future rides will happen May 24, June 28, July 26, Aug. 23, Sept. 20, and Oct. 18.
