Sponsored by Trout Unlimited, the Southern 4WD Association, and the Cherokee National Forest, the Tellico River Clean-up is an annual event that tends a long section of the river corridor and surrounding areas. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Tellico Ranger Station; cleanup begins at 9:00. Volunteers are provided trash bags, gloves and instructions. They should wear brightly-colored clothing, bring lunch and drinks, and work gloves if they have them. Trash pick up is provided by the Forest Service. This event usually lasts 3 - 4 hours.
