WTCI and Chattanooga has been chosen as a stop on the 2008 summer tour of Antiques Roadshow, PBS’s most-watched primetime series. The show will be held at the Chattanooga Convention & Trade Center, Saturday, July 19th.
Admission to Antiques Roadshow events is free, but tickets are required and must be obtained in advance. Complete ticketing rules will be available beginning Monday, Jan. 21st, on Antiques Roadshow Online at pbs.org/antiques or by dialing toll-free 1-888-762-3749. Ticket recipients will be selected at random from all eligible entries. The deadline to apply online for tickets will be Sunday, April 20th, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Ticket holders are invited to bring two items for a free verbal evaluation by experts from the world’s leading auction houses—including Bonhams & Butterfields, Christie’s, Doyle New York, Freeman’s, Skinner, Sotheby’s, and Swann Galleries—and by leading independent appraisers and dealers. All ticket holders are guaranteed an appraisal.
In addition, Antiques Roadshow is looking within 50 miles of each tour destination for large pieces of furniture. Photos are now being accepted of antique furniture that local viewers would like to have appraised on the show. Complete rules for furniture submission is available at pbs.org/antiques.
If furniture is selected, Antiques Roadshow will call the owner no later than 30 days before the event to arrange for our specialized furniture mover to transport your furniture to and from the event. Personnel cannot appraise furniture in the owner’s absence, so owners will need to attend the event to receive verbal appraisal. If furniture is selected, owners will automatically receive a pair of tickets to the event.
