About the teacher:

Sara Sayler is owner and operator of Moss + Elm, a women’s accessory line. Originally from Kingsport, Tenn., Sara moved to Chattanooga when she was 6 and has been here ever since. Growing up an only child, she had to find creative ways of entertaining herself. Most often times she could be found either covered in paint from a craft project or in dirt from playing in the garden. Her granddad first introduced her to gardening when she was young, and it has remained a passion of hers since then. A couple of years ago she decided to do some research and try to find a way that she could incorporate her gardening experience with textiles. Using foraged plant matter as dye seemed to be a no-brainer. After gaining some practice and courage she decided in 2014 to open a textile line called Moss + Elm. In addition to her scarf line she hopes to incorporate clothing and home decor by 2016.
