Join Hunter curators and meditation specialist Yong Oh for a guided meditation session to foster calm, gather the attention, and ground in presence, so that we may bring our whole selves into appreciating a work of art. We will cultivate present-moment awareness through the practice of mindfulness meditation using a selected art piece. The author Marcel Proust wrote, “The real voyage of discovery consists, not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” Experience how mindful awareness can engender the spaciousness of mind and heart that allow us to experience art with a fresh and open perspective.

No meditation experience is necessary, and no special clothing is required. Please, however, bring a mat, pillow, or cushion to the event. A limited number of chairs will also be provided.

Yong Oh has been a practicing acupuncturist in Chattanooga since 2006. He also teaches regular meditation and mindfulness classes and workshops at various locations throughout the city, including Yoga Landing and the Center for Mindful Living. He is currently serving on the board of Southern Dharma Retreat Center and co-facilitates the Chattanooga Insight Meditation Group. Yong is also currently in the Community Dharma Leaders Program offered through Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California. www.omacupuncturecenter.com.
