This concert of international fare begins with Brahms lively dance tunes based on Hungarian themes. Modern French composer Helene Rasquier’s colorful and joyful work for saxophone and strings features Javier Oviedo, for which the piece was written. Concluding the program is Mendelssohn’s “Italian” Symphony, written from his travels throughout Europe and inspired by the color and atmosphere of Italy.
